May Wrap-up | June Goals

31 May 2017

GUYS.  We are almost 1/2 of the way through the year. *internal freakout* I'M NOT SURE HOW THIS IS HAPPENING BUT IT IS.  I feel like the time is just going by so fast, but at the same time...YEAH IDK MAN.  I feel like spring is flying by, but May was a good month (and hellooo summer ♥), so I'm excited to recap it :D LET'S GO.

+ I completed school (for this term).  UM YES HELLO THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING SO IT IS #1  ON THE LIST.  I am officially done with school (for this school year anyway), and I could not be more excited! I am totally ready for summer, and I cannot wait to see what happens.  I feel that every summer has something special that happens in it.  EEEP.  God is good.

+ Made ice cream with liquid nitrogen. So this is kind of like a tradition at my school? It's a really COOL (ha. ha. ha.) tradition anyway :P Basically for the last science class of the year we make ice cream with liquid nitrogen...and I am not even kidding y'all, IT IS MAGIC.  Or something.  We start with a ice cream base and then pour liquid nitrogen into it and while we mix it, it turns into ICE CREAM.  BAM. AWESOMENESS RIGHT THERE.

+ Started my garden (!!). THIS IS SO EXCITING.  It's still a bit of a work in progress since I haven't planted IN THE GROUND yet, but yeah...this just makes me so happy :D Maybe I'll share pictures sometime? Is that something you guys would like or no? I did take a few pictures though, so here they are. They're not "of my garden", but they're just plants that we started awhile back in flats (& random).
+ SO.  MANY.  FUN.  THINGS. May was a really sweet month, and it usually is because since it's the end of school and all of that, there are like...a lot more "special" days, and they are pretty flipping amazing. For one of my classes, we literally headed out to the nearest grocery store to practice shopping economically. IT WAS GREAT.  Then we went out for ice cream afterwards.

Softball was in full swing, and I think I've figured out that I enjoy watching that game a lot more than playing it.  XD But it all depends on who's playing I think.  I'm just grateful that softball doesn't define me as a person lol

I made enchiladas and tried making condensed milk (not together ewww).  WHY WOULD I DO THAT? I attempted making the condensed milk to try making that famous 2-ingredient "no machine" ice cream >_< *clears throat* At least it didn't turn out too awful? xD The ice cream wasn't too bad actually...(also on the same note: I made taco pasta and teriyaki chicken and coconut flour coconut dark chocolate chip cookies this month.  Oh, and I also made this half double-layer fruit cake.  Just for fun.  Did I ever mention I love making food?)

I also attended my school's graduation, and it was so amazing, but it just kind of hit me that that will be me soon.  LIKE WHAAAT.  It's such a strange mix of feelings and emotion, but you know, JESUS IS LIFE.  Gahhh.  Crazy life.  I was talking to one of my friends on the phone this weekend, and we were just talking about how we're getting older and stuff.  She'll be turning twenty soon, but we were saying how it seems like just yesterday me and a bunch of her siblings were trying to make her a surprise birthday party for her fourteenth birthday.  HOW DOES THE TIME GO BY SO FAST?  It's crazy.  But here's a thought I had about it -- growing older doesn't have to mean so much because the ultimate goal is growing closer to Jesus, right?

Also,on another note, it's quite overwhelming the amount of ice cream I've consumed this month. AND IT'S NOT EVEN NATIONAL ICE CREAM MONTH YET.  !!!!!!!

+ I AM NOW A PRO ON INDOOR PLANTS OK.  Or not. We'll see if the plants I got survive first xD I've been doing so much research on raising plants indoors and stuff though (like A LOT of research) because I really want to start... I don't know...interior designing more? But not like actually "interior design"...I don't know.  I want to start making some changes around our house to make it look a lot better.  (Hobby Lobby ftw though) So far it's actually been pretty fun, and I guess this is kind of my current "project"?
+ Read four books.  I actually did this! And it was super fun, so I'm hoping that I can keep this up for the rest of the summer.  READING IS LIFEEE.

+ Finish the school year with a bang I FINISHED IT AND THAT'S WHAT COUNTS.

+ Master the Swallowtail Jig on the violin.  Ehh, yeah.  I can play it faster than I used to be able to, so I guess that's good.  But it's not exactly how I want it yet.  OH WELL.  :D

+ Slow down.  Trust God.  Enjoy life. Yeah, I did do this.  But I also don't think that this is like a once-and-done thing.  It's a continual state of mind, and I am in constant need of God.  So, yes.

+ Get back into making videos.  Because that has always been my passion from the very beginning and I want to get back into it.  (Once, of course, I figure out the beautiful mess that is Premiere Pro HAAAA)

+ FINALLY WRITE AGAIN. I'm actually SUPER excited about this one because I haven't been able to write, edit, or do anything on my own computer for like two months now, and it's been QUITE annoying.

+ Reach 200 followers. I honestly cannot even wrap my mind around this, but right now I'm at THREE followers away from 200 on the Google Friend Connect thingy.  WHICH IS INSANE, OKAY.  It would literally be the coolest thing in the world to reach that goal, so I'm hoping it happens this month :D (PSST GO FOLLOW IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY XD)

+ DO STUFF OUTSIDE. GO OUTSIDE. BE OUTSIDE.  I heard nature's good for you and I love being outside and now it's summer and GOD HELP ME DO STUFF OUTSIDE.

+++
SO that's my May.  It's crazy to think that May's already over.  You ever feel like life's just rushing by and you're standing there like WOAH STOP IT STAHPPP because same xD How was your May though? Was it a good month?  My birthday is in June, so I'm pretty excited about that too :P Did you get out of school yet? HAVE YOU MADE ANY FOOD RECENTLY? <------- es muy importante (this is proof that I have not yet forgotten everything I learned in Spanish xD)

  9. Happy early birthday!! *confetti* *cake* *streamers*

I just finished school as well, though I don't think my brain's quite realized that. I still feel super tense and high-strung all the time, courtesy of residue finals stress :/ hopefully that'll recede in June, though!

Liquid nitrogen ice cream sounds like the coolest of the cool. Ooh, I can't wait to see your videos! And what books have you been reading?

I also want to do stuff outside in June! I've taken to biking every evening, which is really good for my self-discipline and endurance. :) Best wishes for June!

  14. Well, happy birthday for whichever date it is! And I like those photos - your garden is going to look great. I'm glad you finished school and can get into enjoying summer! Oh yes, being outside - I've heard the same thing. ;) Let's say that's something that probably should be on my goals list as well. XD And I'm curious, what books did you read?

My May was pretty good - crazy busy though, and June promises to be the same. But it's good for me, I think - learning to prioritize, and making sure I always make time for God in the middle of it all. Thanks for asking! :)
