2.7.15 || Baby Kids + Banana Bread

08 February 2015

Hope you all are having a fabulous Sunday so far :)  So I'm not sure if any of you guys would know, but I have goats.  Yep.  And right now I have the grand total of 3 goats to my name.  Quick background here - A couple years back, some of my friends were selling kids (baby goats, just fyi ;), and we had bought two.  And I don't have any pictures of them, but sad to say we sold the one at auction, and the other one, when she had a kid, we sold the kid.  But that's not too surprising, considering that's what you do with goats.  We never kept them at our house, but rather we asked some of our friends if we could keep them there, and once agreed, that's what we did.

We moved the goats around twice, and I guess the shock was a little too much for the momma goat, and she died.  Honestly you guys, I had spent enough tears on selling  my first two goats, I wasn't prepared for that.  But then we got another goat, and she had twins. Which had me freaking out in delight.  So yesterday, we went to visit them, and oh.my.word. they are the absolute definition of cuteness.

wow. that was my goat history. #awkward

Anyways, today I just decided to post some of the stuff I did yesterday, and of course, post pictures of the baby goats :)

Oh yes, and one must not forget the banana bread.  I was given this delicious chocolate-chip banana bread yesterday by my friend's mother. mmmm.

and my cuties.  are they not the cutest pair of baby goats you've seen?

Then of course we stopped in to grab a bite to eat.

And while we were there, we also looked around the whole farm for a little.  This ^^ was the conveyor belt that they use to collect the eggs.

This picture is a bit grainy and blurry, but I took it through a window. Those are some of the chickens they raise. Yup. Definitely free range.

And since there were a few eggs that had come through that were too small for them too sell or use, they were deposited upon us.  With our permission of course.

And... this was the result of my doodling.  :D

What have you guys been doing lately? Oh, and any name suggestions for the baby goats? I've been thinking about what to name them, and I'm not completely sure what would be a good name.  Do any of you guys have any pets?

xx

  1. Oh. my. goodness! THOSE ARE ADORABLE GOATS!! I used to own 3 goats as well. A momma and to little ones. :) They were so sweet.. but the Momma was a little stinker. ;) Have you ever milked a goat? Those eggs look great! Sadly my chickens have slowed down their laying majorly due to the cold. :P I'm really missing the 10-12 eggs a day! What have you been making with those eggs? :) I'm having an awesome Sunday! Tomorrow is school..so I'm reading. ;) How about you?

    1. They really are, aren't they? Aww, some goats do tend to be like that. Yeah, I have.... it's not all that bad. Aww, do you have a lot of chickens? We used to have a lot of chickens, but sadly no more. Yes, I'm sure! Mm, nothing yet, hopefully soon I'll get some baking done though. Hmmm, wishing I was reading! I really wanted to head over to the library sometimes to get a few more books since I finished all the ones I have.

    2. Yesss! :D We have about 12 chickens..I think. :D I started out with 20-some, but last winter a few died... I think we are going to get some more chickens this Spring. How long did you keep chicks? :) You should make an omelet with the eggs! You should really try. I am reading "Unstoppable" by Nick Vujicic. You have to read his books! They are so encouraging! You know what, I won't even tell you anything about him. Just google his nameand be amazed. Tell me what you think afterwards. He also has a really good Youtube channel. Have a great night! :D

    3. OK...*makes mental note* Will go check him out....Aw, I'm sorry they died.... Yeah, i had mine mine along time ago. I'm not sure, I may have had like around 12. But we collected eggs from them, and they were my pets. I really loved them :) but I'm not sure where they are now. we had to keep them at someone's house for a bit and we never got them back :(

    4. Yes, do! :D Yeah, last Winter was really rough. We had 3-4 feet of snow everywhere! It really stunk. lol Oh wow, that must have been strange, to have chickens one day and then the next none. Do you like taking care of animals? I don't mind it...except on the freezing days. Then, I'd rather be inside. ;)

    5. It was... Yeah it did :) Hehe..it was rather weird :) It's actually not that bad at all. In fact, I sometimes enjoy that. :) Of course, not on cold days ;) Today I was trying to do chin ups (again) and failed miserably :P

  8. The goats are so cute! I'm not good at naming things... The names I give are the most bizzare. Like, I named one of my characters Train and the other Azaria. You have nice handwriting on the eggs! My writing looks a lot like a guys, which is the reason why I end up getting the wrong pieces of homework when our graded work is passed back in class. Banana bread is just so yummy. I can't get enough of that stuff.

    xoxo Morning

Can I come live with you? It looks so pretty wherever you are and where I live its at least fifty million degrees outside right now.

  19. Awwww. We don't own any animals because my parents are not really fond of them (:(), but I know lot's of people who have farms or own farm animals. One of my best friend's has like, 7 goats and every time I go over to her house I wish I had some kids. :) For names, I would suggest (I'm assuming they are brother and sister ;) Bambi and Basil, Caramel and Fudge, Oreo and Cookie (somebody I know had a goat named Oreo and his mom was Cookie. lol), and if they are both girls, (this is my favorite ;) Patches and Peaches. :) Let us know what you decide to name them! :)
