Close-up of Christmas Decoration Hanging on Tree

the magic of christmas is not in the presents, but in His presence.

it's the most wonderful time of the year again, as they call it.  what do y'all do for Christmas? i'm honestly just so, so excited to finally be on break.  i love this time of the year.  cookies, lights, presents, hot cocoa, snow, caroling, joy.  it's amazing.  and this year i've been trying to make my mind focus on--as cliche as it may sound--the reason for the seaon. Jesus Christ.  i feel that sometimes we run after all these wonderful, lovely Christmas-y things, that we tend to almost forget the whole point.  at least for me, i know that can definitely happen.  God's grace is really what this season is about to me, and for the gift of Jesus i am beyond grateful.  all the other parts about this season are also so amazing, but the most important thing is celebrating the Prince of Peace, Emmanuel.  truth be told, HE is the reason for all the joy...ever.  i know that everyone talks about this during Christmas, but HONESTLY.  to me, this is the most wonderful time of the year because of that.
so what are some things you love about this season? let's talk!

OKAY. oh man. I love this season. I love the happy morning smiles and the fact that my toes are always cold and hot cocoa and surprise visits and the fact that God is with us. that's what Immanuel means. God with us. and it just blows my mind because no matter where we go, He is with us. Joshua 1:9. WHAT LOVE. oh my goodness. what love, what love, what love. i've needed it this month.

  5. Thanks so much for this amazing reminder! I really needed it. I was feeling so bogged down by everything that I have to get done in 5 DAYS and I was stressing about Christmas. So this post was an amazing reminder that none of that stuff matters. Christmas is about Christ and that's all that is important. Thank you!
    BTW, those photos are gorgeous!

I felt that way too for a while this holiday season, but then I was just like...hey everyone literally goes crazy this time of the year, but the TRUE REASON FOR ALL OF IT IS CHRIST JESUS. Thank you for reading!!

I just wrote a post on this, but same girl!! I am always focusing on other things instead of remembering my joy comes from Christ, and He is the reason why we celebrate.
