March Goals | February Wrap-up

01 March 2017

So, if you haven't already gathered from all the end-of-month blog posts popping up everywhere and the calendar, it's March. March.  As in, the March that typically comes after the month of February.  March--as in, the third month of the year.  DO WE NEED TO STRESS ABOUT THIS FACT? PROBABLY.

Quite honestly, it's pretty mind blowing to me that we're already here.  I remember so clearly what was happening last year at this exact time, and it's strange to think it's been ONE YEAR SINCE THAT.  Whaaat? Everything is going by so fast.  I NEED THE TIME TO HOLD ON FOR A SECOND.  *ahem* ;)

Also, I'm really excited right now because for the second time in a row, the first day of the month falls on Wednesday, which is the day I post.  February 1st was a Wednesday, and March 1st is too?! HOW PERFECT IS THAT?  You guys definitely picked the right day of the week for a blog post ;)

+ I made chocolate chip muffins and chocolate chip cookies.  Because yes, this is a big deal.  Anything with chocolate is pretty much the bestttt.  I tried intense dark chocolate this month (72%), and I actually don't think I would've minded it even darker.  IT'S GOOD.

+ I passed Adult 1 in skating.  WHEW. I had mentioned in last month's post that I joined a Learn-to-Skate at my rink, and the first session was passed successfully! (Thank God) So, now I'm on to the second session.  WOO.

+ I got sick :( I WAS HOPING NOT TO GET SICK THIS WINTER? That didn't happen though.  I took a few days off school even.  It was pretty bad.

+ I made donuts for the FIRST TIME.  Like, in the official way.  I've tried baked donuts before (and they were a fail), so for the first time I made them with yeast and fried them.  YEAH.  I don't believe in fried foods as a rule, but *cough* umm....these are homemade? YES I KNOW that really doesn't make a difference but moderation is key, yo. The doughnut picture in my last post was of those that I made.  THEY WERE GOOD.

+ My glasses broke. I talked about this in last week's post, but it honestly wasn't the worst thing to happen.  I don't wear them half the time in the first place, so it wasn't necessarily like NOOOOOOO THEY BROKE AND THE WORLD MIGHT END NOW.

+ The weather was having an identity crisis? I'm not sure what was really going on this whole winter actually.  This winter was so, so, so warm compared to any other winter probably in the last ten years.  (And no I am not a weather expert so don't quote me on that xD).  This month I had a cancellation of school because of the snow, and then other days it was ABOVE 75 DEGREES??????  Yeah.  Not sure what's going on there.

+  Played violin in front of people! I wrote about this one in my last post too, but it happened and I SURVIVED.  Boom.  It wasn't the best performance I could've done, but it wasn't totally awful either, so I'm okay with it.  And I'm just going to keep practicing and giving it my best so that whenever in the future someone says "PLAY US A SONG IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A CONCERT' I can give them a concert and watch as they stand there shocked. (lol MAYBE)
Peace of mind I would definitely say I got this in February.  The month was really busy and hectic, but now that I'm at the end of it and looking back, I can see that God was with me through it all.  It was a month of growing and learning new things, most definitely; but it was also a good month.  Not everything happened that I wanted to, but that's okay. That's part of life. But I can look forward to the future with hope, and I believe that's the important thing.

Finish my novel OKAY, so I made progress, but I'm not done.  I'm going to take this off of next month's list, and when I get it done, I get it done :D Hopefully sooner than later.

Live where I am happily. Yeahhhh-ish? xD A lot of my goals for February were....more in the mind.  But that's okay too.  I think this month had its ups and downs, just like any other month, but I learned through it.  Just like every single other month. So, yes, right now, as February is over and I sit down typing up this blog post--I can say that life is good.  God is good.  He's faithful, and when I surrender all to Him, He'll take me where i need to be when I need to be.

Work on all of my "hobbies".   Part of what I had wanted to accomplish with this goal was to get busy and really crack down on things like writing and photography--things that I've  needed to do for a while but never really got the time to do.  And I didn't get a whole lot (Welll, I did some writing) done, but I made some headway so THERE'S THAT. This month turned insanely busy at the end (I think I'm starting to figure out that every month turns out pretty busy xD), so I'm glad for what I did get done in my novel and I'm praying that March will be a little less stressful. :P

+ Read more.  My mind is drawing such a blank right now, because I can't even think of what I want to do in March.  I mean, I know there are things I want to do, but I can't think of any major things honestly.  (DOES THAT MEAN MARCH WILL BE A RELAXED MONTH?!?) But anyways, reading is definitely something I want to work on. In February, I really didn't read a lot at all, so I really want to take time and just read this month. (Maybe instead of spending time online *cough*)

+ Start my plants for my garden. So I'm not sure if you all know, but I really love to garden.  And this year, I'm doing something a little different.  I'm starting the plants in seed flats so that way they're a little grown before I actually plant them in the garden. FUN. Though, I honestly can't believe it's time to do that already... IT'S SPRING, EVERYONE.

+ WRITE. That's pretty much all there is to it.  I really need to work on my novel, and I have some other articles/short stories that I need to write too. So I'm hoping and praying that March will be a really good writing month!

+ Plan things out more/bullet journal.  Pretty sure that I have my planner for a reason, and I've been thinking that I could use it even more than I do now.  I do use it pretty much now, but I want to start writing down ALLL THE THINGS.  Just planning out everything--school, writing, LIFE.  I want to try to do that a lot more this month.  (Also maybe even bullet journaling? Who knows.  THOUGH, to be honest, I'm still trying to figure out the entire concept of bullet journaling? Is it just a pretty, artsy way of journaling or? It looks really awesome though.) SO YES.  March shall be the month of planning (hopefully).

Well, that's a wrap for today!! Can you believe February is over? AND SPRING IS ON THE WAY.  I can't wait for that! What have you been doing lately? Was your February eventful? Busy? Stressed? I FEEL YA.  But whatever last month was life for you, I'm sure March will be an even better month. Life is amazing and an incredible gift ♥ (ALSO PEOPLE.  After this month...it's going to be April???) Yeah okay NO WAY.  HOW DO WE EVEN FATHOM THAT?

  10. Hey there! I had to pause and comment when I saw the part about you loving to garden. I do too! Major time. I practically had to push back the snow to plant some peas just yesterday because Springtime was practically here, regardless of the snow. I'm curious what zone you live in?

Here, it's been unseasonably cold and the longest Winter we've had in forever. I don't think the weather is ever predictable. Anyways, it's kinda exciting to find someone who likes to garden closer to my age group. I haven't found that many :)

    1. EEP I'm glad you stopped to comment! Gardening is one of my all time favorite things to do <3 Ever since I was little I always had a garden or shared a garden with someone, and it's awesome. WOW. That's crazy! We just had a blizzard today, so yeah...I haven't planted anything outside, and I don't think I will till at least middle of May. But the plants will be a little grown by then already so.

Wow. Winter is definitely not predictable! This was one of our warmest winters, yet we had a blizzard in March. WOW. Gardening is rad, yo.

  11. DOUGHNUTSSSSS YAAAAAAAAS. (lol it's like so many things happening in this post but I ONLY THINK ABOUT FOOD TBH IT MIGHT BE A PROBLEM) I watched an ASMR cooking video where they were making crème brûlée dougnuts and it was so mesmerizing and iT MADE ME WANT TO MAKE DOUGHNUTS -- LIKE REAL DOUGHNUTS -- SO BAD. And I've made the baked kind too they are just not the same thing, you know?? NOT THE SAME THING. :'''')

*devotes an entire paragraph to doughnuts* *see i have a problem*

EEEEP YOUR MARCH GOALS SOUND AWESOME, GIRL!! Also you're so cool for gardening. I wish I liked it more but the great outdoors and I don't typically get along. *nervous laughter* OOOH SKATING I LOVE SKATING THAT'S AWESOME THAT YOU'RE SKATINGGGG!! *confetti* I haven't gone skating at the actual rink AT ALL this winter and it's really sad. *crying emojis* Also I totally get you on the writing plans. I wanted to rewrite/write/finish the first draft of my manuscript by the end of February and LOLOLOL THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. But oh well. :')

    LOVED THIS RECAP <3333

    rock on,

    1. ABBIE WOOP YOUR COMMENTS ARE AWESOME.

Doughnuts. Definitely yes. A WHOLE PARAGRAPH IS DEFINITELY OK FOR THEM. DUDE really? I'm gunna have to go look it up. Crème brûlée doughnuts sound so good wow. YES I have made the baked kind too and lol they kind of don't even compare with the real deal. WOOP. But in my opinion, if you'd fry them in something like coconut oil, that would help so much, instead of that sick grease they use in the store. idk.

lol I LOVE BEING OUTSIDE BUT IT'S ALL COOL YO. You literally run a plant store sooooo *laugh* SKATING IS THE BEST THING EVER! Awww, dude. You can still go though...that's the beauty of a rink xD UGH YES. I'm going to try to finish it by the end of MARCH but let's see how that goes haha
