the little things | #3

hey guys :) how are you all doing? I'm doing pretty good, especially, um, because, SPRING IS HERE.  and we all know that SUMMER comes after spring, and um, yes. YES. YES. YES.  do I need to explain.

haha, anyways, so a while back, almost a year ago, I did a post called "the little things" and then last summer, I did a part two on that.  and so, today, I thought why not do a third part do that, since i personally love posts like this AND there are so MANY things that I'm grateful for right now, like, *ahem* THE WARM WEATHER FOR INSTANCE.  (hey there 70 degree week coming up)

the little things are things that i, for one, pass by way too quickly in everyday life.  even on my worst days, there are significantly small things that if i would take the time to go back over and look at, are beautiful.  honestly, there are like so many people that don't take time to notice the little things.  and WHY NOT? yeah, everybody's busy and has a full schedule and is living life, but still, the small things are things to be noticed.  God puts the littlest blessings in our life, and it's really up to us to notice them.  idk, this is just sort of what my mind has been mulling over lately (along with 1.2 billion other random things).

so, let's get on with this, shall we?

warm weather - haha, okay, so i know this is the one i was just ranting about up there ^^^^^, but i feel like it should get a special mention here too.  last week was so INCREDIBLY warm, and today, oh. my. word., you guys, today is like so warm and pleasant and beautiful and sunshin-ey and screaming SPRING.

real people - who stick by your side through thick and thin and you can count on.  those are the best people in the world, you know?  i've realized that so much in the past few weeks, and it's one of the greatest gifts ever.  i'm so thankful for those people, and they really mean so much...and really, i think that one of the best things ever is to have a friend who you can tell everything to and they'll understand and listen (YES JESUS).  but i also mean like, you know, a human friend too.  God does give them, and when He does that's one of His greatest gifts, if you ask me.

freedom - um, yeah.  and i mean freedom in the sense of being free in spirit.  limitless and boundless.  when life is not in your control, but in God's, and being able to rest happily in that, knowing He will work it out.  being free at heart, and confident and strong.  that is one of the best, best feelings in the world.  knowing that we'll never make it on our own, but with God's almighty strength, life is a beautiful thing.  this, this is what i live for.

making others smile - YES SO MUCH. especially if you know that they're hitting a rough patch in life and you're trying to cheer them up, or even totally random strangers.  if i can just make one person lift a smile on their face, then i'd say i'm feeling pretty satisfied.  i don't know what it is, just making someone smile is so, i don't know, amazing.

photography (IN MANUAL MODE): - YOU GUYS.  basically all the photos in this post i took in manual mode on my camera.  WHATTT.  yeah, i know.  it's insane.  but i was reading like several blog articles and stuff about shooting in manual mode and how it's apparently the best?? so i decided to give it a go, and hey, it's actually not too bad.  i love photography so much ♥ gahhh.

the smell of grass growing: oooh yes.  this definitely goes along with spring, and this past week the weather has been so crazy.  it would rain, and then we'd have a super sunny day, and then it rained again, but the grass has definitely started growing.  this morning i went out and snapped some pictures, and i could literally smell grass.  THAT HAS GOT TO BE ONE OF THE BEST SMELLS IN THE WORLD.  ♥ ♥

so i hope you guys liked this post :) what are some of the little things in life that make you smile?  and also i'm so excited because the writers and artists conference is THIS week.  ADDFSKFJDS

anyways, happy easter to you guys! it's so awesome and amazing to think that God sent His Son to die for our sins and raise Him back up again so that we could have an eternal, amazing life.  it blows my mind every time i think about it.  ♥ God is awesome.

have an awesome week and enjoy the little things <3

  1. Okay, so, like every time I read one of your posts, I start it with the intention to just read it and then move on, without commenting, but then very time, I feel like I must comment. Because you always say something where I'm like "WHOA YUP." For instance, when you said, "when life is not in your control, but in God's, and being able to rest happily in that, knowing He will work it out." I like that very much. And girl, your photography! It's all so beautiful! I got a fancy new big camera for Christmas, and I've had it in manual most of the time for the same reason you said basically, and I've gotten some stinkin' cool pictures.
