100 Reasons I'm Thankful this Thanksgiving

SO.  Thanksgiving is tomorrow. (I'm sure you knew that... but still.) Is that not crazy? I've always felt that once it hits Thanksgiving, time flies till you're at Christimas/New Year, and then there's those real winter months.  Not sure how I feel about that yet.

I am super excited about the upcoming season, but at the same time I also want to make sure I stop and admire the beauty around me in every step of the way.  There's no way I want to let everything slide past me just because I'M BUSY.  I am busy, but I want to still live in the moment.

I had the idea to write this post for a long time.  I wrote a post similar to this one a few years back called 50 Reasons, and that post took me an eternity and a half to write, so today I'm just going to go through everything I'm thankful for and not expound too much on everything.  Honestly, I'm just so thankful to God for everything He's given me, and writing this list made me realize how much we take for granted.
I'm not going to lie, I had imagined Thanksgiving this year to be a lot different, but in a sense, isn't that the point? To be thankful for what we do have, and what we don't have.  It's hard, but UM like Thanksgiving is about giving thanks?? Haha, so that's one thing I'm working on this year.

What are some things that you all have learned this year?
1.   God.  Wow.  I have no words, honestly. He has been everything to me this year, and I've learned to trust Him so much. There's so much I could write about this, but since I have 99 things (that are not nearly as important as God because He is God) left to write yet, I'll stop.
2.    Family.
3.    Friends.
4.    Good water.  When we moved, the water situation was pretty bad.  IT'S A LITTLE THING but is it a big thing.
5.    Grace.
6.    The first signs of a new season
7.    That fact even though you're getting older, God is still the same and He's the purpose for my life.
8.    Gratitude
9.    Finding confidence in God
10.  Stories
11.  Music
12. Wet grass on a summer's morning
13. Traveling near & far.  Traveling in general.

47.  Trials (In retrospect, but God does teach amazing things through trials.  And I would not be the person I am today without them.)
48.  Color.
49.  The fact that I am God's.
50.  The power of Jesus' blood.
51.  The cause I live for
52.  Sweet summer

98.  Moments so funny I'm laughing until my stomach aches
99.  My unfailing God
100.  Completing lists

DONE. There's my list for you.  100 things I'm thankful for.  Writing this made me realize that really -- there are so many little things that we take for granted.  There's so many small things that we usually don't think about that if we wouldn't have it would be much more...let's just say inconvenient.

Have you thought about this at all? You should definitely make your own list of things you're thankful for this Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for this year? If you're in America, are you doing anything special for Thanksgiving? I'd love to hear about it!

Have an amazing day and stay safe + thankful ♥

  1. This makes me so, so happy. I've actually been planning to start a gratitude journal, kind of in the format of this post.

We don't do anything huge for thanksgiving, but I always love it. :)

  9. Shalom! So many great things on this list! My previous comment I goofed (if you could delete it, please - thank you!) Could there be two Autumn's who play violin and love the Creator, etc.? :P I have a friend on Goodreads and I found this link on my friend Mikayla's blog. Anyway, I'm following your cool blog now! :) As I mentioned in the reply I sent too soon just a little bit ago, I'm also so thankful every day for all of the wonderful blessings, big or little. And I believe that's why we're here to praise Him and thank Him. :) You're clearly a cool, nice, wonderful person - that can be seen just from reading your list. :) May the Creator bless you.

  10. "Those who actually listen rather than speak." Ah, all of these are good ones. It's extraordinary that all these little things have made our lives better, even if we don't realise it. How lucky is circumstance?

It's a very thoughtful gratitude list. Makes me wish we had Thanksgiving in Australia, it would be a great opportunity. :)

    1. YES that one is so so me. I love those friends who do that. It is pretty amazing how everything makes our lives so much more better, so true. God is so amazing and I honestly don't know what I'd do without Him.

xD Australia's a pretty amazing place though :) But hey, every day can be Thanksgiving, tbh. But it is a great opportunity, yes.
